Pneumatic pressure transducer

Our pneumatic pressure transducers are employed for measuring static and dynamic relative pressures in the psi and bar unit spectrum. These products, which are also available with wireless radio data transmission, are especially popular in automotive testing technology.

Pneumatic pressure transducer with radio transmission
In addition to automotive testing technology, our pneumatic pressure transducers can also be used for other pressure measurements in measuring ranges from 10 – 20bar. Coupling is realised via standardised screw connections. Wireless radio data transmission can be realised to a receiver which emits an analog output signal. A direct PC link via a USB radio receiver is also possible. Alternatively, a pressure transducer with analog current output connected by cable is also available.
  • For pneumatic pressures
  • Available in measuring ranges from 10 – 20bar
  • Encased design (IP65 protection)
  • Radio transmission or cable connection with integrated measuring amplifier

Torque transducers

HKM-Messtechnik produces torque transducers for measuring non-rotating reaction torques in the Nm range. Torque transducers are available with analog or digital output levels.

Torque transducers
The circular transducer type is designed in different heights and mechanical dimensions, depending on the load range and application involved. The design is developed individually in all cases to meet customer specifications. For example, extremely flat designs can be realised for installation in drive units between the engine and transmission. Torque transmission occurs via flanges screwed firmly into position. More information on how we can produce your individual torque transducer is available here:
  • For torques
  • Measurement range adapted to customer requirement
  • Protection class according to customer requirement
  • Optionally available with integrated measuring amplifier

Strain transducers

Strain transducers are ideal for the measurement of extremely high loads and deformations. In contrast to force transducers which measure in the power flow, strain transducers work in the force shunt. They are fitted parallel to the power flow and measure even immense forces through the finest strains recorded on the transducer. Our strain transducers operate in the measuring range up to 750με. They are available with analog or digital output levels.

Strain transducers
Our strain transducers are especially popular in machine and plant engineering. The transducer is simply screwed to the machine component to be measured to record strain. Strain transducers have a 4 – 20mA analog current output or a CANopen digital output.
  • For strains
  • Available in measuring ranges from 250 to 750με
  • Encased design (IP67 protection)
  • Optionally available with integrated measuring amplifier

Force transducers and load cells

We have a diverse selection of force transducers and load cells in the load ranges N to kN, kg to t or in lb for the measurement of forces and weights. The components are integrated directly in the power flow to be measured and can be supplied with analog or digital output levels.

Shear force transducer SK

Shear force transducer
This force transducer is distinguished by its extremely robust and compact design. It is designed for use in harsh weighing and industrial environments. A decisive advantage of the shear force measuring principle employed is its insensitivity to transverse forces. The shear force transducer SK is also available with integrated measuring amplifiers. Individual force applications and installation variants are also possible.
  • For tensile and compression forces
  • Available in measuring ranges from 2kN - 100kN
  • Encased design (IP67 protection)
  • Optionally available with integrated measuring amplifier

Dual shear force transducer DK

Dual shear force transducer DK
The HKM dual shear force transducer is especially suited to use in harsh weighing and industrial environments. It consists of two shear force transducers placed together. The advantage of this design is a particularly robust installation with four screw fittings and the parallel introduction of the acting forces. This range of transducers is insensitive to transverse loads, due to the shear force measuring principle employed. Output can occur via an aggregate or two separate signal outputs. Each dual shear force transducer DK is, of course, available with integrated measuring amplifiers.
  • For tensile and compression forces
  • Available in measuring ranges from 15kN - 100kN
  • Encased design (IP67 protection)
  • Optionally available with integrated measuring amplifier

Shear force load cell SW

Shear force load cell SW
The S-shaped shear force load cells have a symmetrical structure and introduce force concentrically. They are distinguished by their compact design and a high degree of reliability and precision. They are all equally insensitive to transverse loads. These load cells can be integrated directly in the power flow via spherical rod ends and fork ends. The 1.x series means that a miniature version is also available.
  • For tensile and compression forces
  • Available in measuring ranges from 100N - 100kN
  • Adaption via inner thread
  • Encased design (IP67 protection)
  • Optionally available with integrated measuring amplifier

Compression load cell DD

Compression load cell
HKM compression load cells are used for measurement of static and dynamic compression forces in the most varied of industrial applications. Forces are always introduced concentrically into the compression load cell. These sensors have a metallic sheathing and can even be used under hostile environmental conditions. Its limited measuring range makes the transducer particularly suitable for dynamic applications. The 1.x series means that a miniature version is also available in the load range up to 100kg.

  • Available in load ranges from 50kg - 20t
  • Encased design (IP67 protection)
  • Optionally available with integrated measuring amplifier

Load pin MB

Load pin MB
These load pins are designed as bearing pins. They fulfil the function of a normal clevis pin and simultaneously measure the resulting tensile and compressive forces. The load pins are designed for high to very high loads.
These force transducers are designed to meet your specifications. We adapt your load pins individually to suit your existing mechanical components.
You can order your own individual solutions here:

This occurs independently of the position of the weights on the platform. The platform load cell BR is primarily used in low load ranges.
  • For tensile and compression forces
  • Available in load ranges from 5kg - 100kg
  • Encased design (IP65 protection)

Measuring amplifier

Signal conditioning is an important component of our measurement system. We use either measuring amplifiers integrated in the sensors or located externally in their own housing for this purpose. Measurement amplifiers are used to transform sensitive strain gauge bridge signals into standardised analog or digital output levels. Wireless radio transmission of measurement data is also possible.

Integrated strain gauge measuring amplifiers

Signal conditioning is realised via a measurement amplifier board integrated in the sensor. The measuring amplifier is encased in the sensor, providing it with permanent protection. The following output variants are available: analog current and voltage signals, switching outputs or an RS485 interface. Optionally, customers can adjust the zero point and gain via an I²C interface.
  • Encased design (IP67 protection)

Portable wheel load scales

Our wheel load scales are the ideal measuring instrument for portable and extremely accurate wheel, axle or vehicle weighing ranging from two-wheelers and cars to heavy-duty vehicles. Our product range also encompasses portable wheel scales for verification applications. Areas of use are extremely varied. In addition to vehicle weighing alone, centres of gravity and load distributions can be determined with weighing data. Vehicle scales are used in automotive production, motor racing, vehicle modification or export control.

These very flat, extremely accurate and maintenance-free vehicle scales can be combined with each other in practically any configuration. The scales need merely be set up on a level and firm subsurface and combined with each other, depending on the version involved. All the wheels of a vehicle should also be at the same height level for exact determination of the load distribution. Our non-verified wheel scales are supplied with a factory calibration certificate traceable to the national standards at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB, German Metrology Institute). The verified wheel scales receive a calibration certificate.
